Lena Dunham, Lester Holt, Megyn Kelly Feted at Starry THR Party Honoring 35 Most Powerful People in New York Media
"Can you believe Donald Trump?" Gayle King asked Barbara Walters on the red carpet during the event that welcomed Julianne Moore, Jon Favreau, Bill O'Reilly, Jeff Zucker, Andy Lack, Charlie Rose, Savannah Guthrie, Anna Wintour, Padma Lakshmi, Andrew Ross Sorkin and Kathryn Stockett, among numerous others of the New York media elite.
The New York City news scene: If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. But why go anywhere else?
The media elite gathered at the Four Seasons restaurant on Wednesday night to salute the 2016 honorees of The Hollywood Reporter's annual 35 Most Powerful People in New York Media list.
This year's honorees — including Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, Bill O'Reilly, Megyn Kelly, Anna Wintour, Lester Holt, Gayle King, Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, Charlie Rose, David Remnick, Norah O'Donnell and CBS News president David Rhodes — celebrated the rankings in the candlelit restaurant's Pool Room, just weeks before the storied lunch spot closes for good. The venue was lined with large posters of the power list honorees as well as Broad City stars Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, who are also featured in THR's current issue.
With the gathering of New York's media power players, it was hard to keep the 2016 presidential election out of the conversation.
"Can you believe Donald Trump?" King asked Barbara Walters on the red carpet.
When asked about their craziest campaign moments so far, Holt quipped, "What time is it?" while Bethenny Frankel said she literally ran into Trump while doing a walk of shame.
Wintour and Dylan's Candy Bar founder Dylan Lauren hung out next to the DJ booth, where DJ MOS provided music for the event, drawing Julianne Moore and Bart Freundlich, Billy Eichner, Arianna Huffington, Martha Stewart, Jeff Zucker, Kathryn Stockett, Andrew Ross Sorkin, Dr. Mehmet Oz and Andy Lack, among others.
Walters shared laughs with Martha Stewart and Rose, while guests mingled over drinks and hors d'oeuvres including tuna tartare, risotto balls and prosciutto-wrapped asparagus.

Martha Plimpton, Don Lemon, Ashley Greene, Jon Favreau, Padma Lakshmi, Brooke Shields, Geoffrey Zakarian, Carol Alt and Maria Bartiromo also hit the fifth annual bash, sponsored by American Airlines, Citi and Nielsen Entertainment.
When it comes to making it in New York, O'Donnell joked that it takes a comfortable pair of shoes, a Seamless account and Yelp, but O'Reilly gave the true definition of being a New Yorker.
"New York is the toughest town in the world, and I’ve been successful here," said O'Reilly. "As the song says, 'If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.'"
