'Sex' sells again

HBO Video is reissuing its popular "Sex and the City: The Complete Series" DVD set in time for the theatrical release of the "Sex and the City" feature film, which opens May 30. The set includes 20 discs encased in a pink book and includes 2,820 minutes of programming as well as bonus features like a comprehensive guide to the series.

Warner Home Video is bringing to DVD for the first time six remastered Westerns. Featured in the "Western Classics Collection," which hits stores Aug. 26, are "Escape From Fort Bravo"; "Many Rivers to Cross" and "Saddle the Wind," both of which have never before been available on any home video platform; the 1960 remake of "Cimarron"; "The Law and Jake Wade"; and "The Stalking Moon."

koch lands on cloud

Faith-based film production company Cloud Ten has cut a DVD distribution deal with Koch Entertainment for catalog titles and new releases. Koch will distribute Cloud Ten product to retailers throughout North America, taking over from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

The Entertainment Merchants Assn. has partnered with the Content Delivery and Storage Assn. to establish industry metadata standards for the digital delivery of home entertainment content over the Internet. The new standards will provide uniformity in the communication of product data by content suppliers to retailers as well as in the terminology used to convey that data.
