Universal Studios Home Entertainment is launching a program that lets consumers preview DVD bonus materials on their mobile phones. Fans of "Heroes" and "The Office" can preview exclusive extras that will be included on upcoming DVD season sets of the TV series by texting a code from their Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T phones. Season 2 of "Heroes" comes out on DVD on Aug. 26, followed Sept. 2 by Season 4 of "Office."
All three "Austin Powers" movies will debut Dec. 2 on Blu-ray Disc when Warner Bros. ships to stores the "Austin Powers Collection: Shagadelic Edition, Loaded With Extra Mojo." The films grossed a collective $472 million in North American theaters.
ELVIS LIVES AGAIN
A new documentary on Elvis Presley, "Elvis: Return to Tupelo," will bow on DVD the day of its Sept. 11 premiere on Bio. The 90-minute special chronicles Presley's early years in his native Tupelo, Miss., through his 1956 homecoming concert. The DVD will only be available through the Michael Rose Prods. Web site.
EAA NODS SET
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and Target Stores are this year's recipients of the Entertainment AIDS Alliance's annual Visionary Awards. Disney's award will be accepted by Lori MacPherson, the division's GM, North America. The awards will be presented Sept. 18 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.
