Hong Kong action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping has signed up to direct the China-Canada martial arts co-production Vigilantes: The Lost Order, which will be his first Hollywood film.

Yuen, known for his work on The Matrix, Kill Bill and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, will be bringing his Chinese shingle Film Can Production into a collaboration with Art Birzneck of Dragon Star Pictures and Birch Tree Entertainment, who are repping the project at AFM.The Lost Order is planned to be the first of a trilogy.
Described by Birch Tree as “The Matrix meets Wall Street,” the film centers on a female assassin whose efforts to avenge her father’s murder lead her to uncover a conspiracy in the world of international high finance.
Film Can president Anthony Wong said the film is designed to become “the next big international action franchise.”
Having worked as action choreographer for a string of Hollywood films since the success of The Matrix, Yuen is making his first directorial foray in English-language cinema.
