Warner Bros. president Alan Horn will receive the 2008 Milestone Award at the next PGA Awards gala.

Horn, who also is COO, has served in his studio posts for eight years. He will be honored Feb. 2, when the Producers Guild of America stages its 19th annual awards gala at the Beverly Hilton.

"Under Alan Horn's leadership, Warner Bros.' filmed entertainment businesses have consistently held category-leading positions and produced numerous movies that have been hugely successful at the boxoffice and hailed by critics," PGA Awards co-chairs Mark Gordon and Hawk Koch said. "He has always been a friend to producers and is most deserving of the Milestone honor."

At Warners, Horn has overseen worldwide film and home entertainment operations during a period when the studio has released films like last year's best picture Oscar winner "The Departed" and such franchise blockbusters as the "Harry Potter" and "Ocean's" series.

Before joining Warners, Horn was chairman and CEO of Castle Rock Entertainment, which he co-founded in 1987.

Horn also serves on the boards of several charitable and philanthropic groups.

"I am truly honored to have been chosen to receive the Producers Guild's Milestone Award, (whose) past recipients are industry luminaries," Horn said. "I am proud to be among this elite group."

Recipients of the Milestone Awards include last year's honoree, Universal Studios president Ron Meyer as well as Clint Eastwood in 2006 and Jeffrey Katzenberg in 2005.
