Horror Flick 'Southbound' Sells to The Orchard in North America
The film recently screened in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto Film Festival.
The Orchard has acquired North American distribution rights to horror film Southbound.
Southbound comes from the creators of the V/H/S horror series. The film consists of five separate stories, populated with unique characters, that all take place on the same desolate stretch of desert highway.
Brad Miska and Roxanne Benjamin produced the horror vignettes, which were directed by David Bruckner, the directing collective Radio Silence, Patrick Horvath and Benjamin.
The film had its world premiere in the Midnight Madness section of the 2015 Toronto Film Festival.
“When we saw Southbound, we knew we were looking into the eyes of a much different animal,” said Paul Davidson, senior vp film & TV at The Orchard, which plans to release the film in the first half of 2016.
The deal for the film was negotiated by The Orchard's Craig Sussman with CAA on behalf of the filmmakers.
