Hot New Restaurant -- Terroni
THR’s pick of the week for industry dining sees Toronto’s cult southern-Italian export expand to downtown L.A.’s burgeoning Historic Core neighborhood.
The Quick Pitch: Terroni’s first L.A. location – on Beverly Blvd. in mid-city – is known for its sharply effervescent modernist decor, handmade pastas, Italian wines, thin-crust pizzas and notoriously resolute reluctance to pre-slice pies for customers. The restaurant has now brought the same dining DNA, as well as its penchant for a Gio Ponti-meets-Carlo Mollino mid-century Italian design aesthetic, to a super-sized second outpost in an ornate former bank building in downtown’s continually gentrifying Historic Core district.
