How Hollywood Is Handling the Heat Wave
While some folks are finding ways to survive in the scorching heat (think ice cream and froyo), others are more focused on celebrating the #FirstDayofSummer.
In case you haven't heard (or felt the rising temperature), L.A. has been experiencing a major heat wave with temps rising above 100 degrees on Monday. And those in the city are definitely feeling the burn.
Stylist Johnny Wujek, whose clients have included Katy Perry and Kate Mara, shared a photo on Instagram of himself chillin' on a flamingo floatie in the pool with an accompanying caption that read, "FlaminGO away you awful heat. It's toooo HOT. #overHeated #stayHydrated." Preach.
Meanwhile, actor Brian Chin (Rizzoli & Isles, Devious Maids) joked about how the heat wave is ruining his diet. But let's be real, one can never have too much froyo.
Fashion and celebrity photographer Zoey Grossman, who has shot Justin Bieber for Billboard and Katy Perry for CoverGirl, is totally feeling the heat — and she's not about it. "To everyone who is working outside in L.A today in the heat I f--kin feel you. I salute you," she captioned an Instagram featuring an image she took of a model in a one-piece bikini.
While Chin opted for frozen yogurt, actress Anne Borchert wasted no time getting two scoops of ice cream to cool down.
But not everyone kicked off the first day of summer addressing the heat wave. True Detective alum Michelle Monaghan wished her Insta followers a happy #FirstDayOfSummer with a sexy portrait of herself clad in a one-piece swimsuit. Needless to say, her fans are all about it.
Designer Nanette Lepore relaxed at Malibu Beach, where Rachel Zoe also happened to take her two boys for the day.
As for Beyonce, she's escaping the heat wave and instead kicking off summer in Hawaii with husband Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy. She even matched her marigold cover-up with a crown and necklace adorned with tiny lemons. Because when life gives you lemons, make accessories out of them.
