'How I Met Your Mother' Finale Most-Watched Scripted Show for Canada's City
The Canadian network drew 1.55 million viewers nationally, surpassing the previous high held by "2 Broke Girls."
TORONTO – The finale of How I Met Your Mother Monday night brought Canadian broadcaster City its most-watched scripted program ever.
The CBS comedy wrapped its nine-season run with 1.55 million viewers nationally on City, according to BBM Canada overnight data.
That series-high surpassed the previous record for City with an episode of 2 Broke Girls that aired on Sept 24, 2012 with an average 1.3 million viewers.
The one-hour How I Met Your Mother episode Monday night peaked at 1.9 million viewers for City.
As with rival private Canadian broadcasters, City consistently draws its biggest primetime audiences with U.S. network series.
The Canadian network also debuted Friends With Better Lives at 9 p.m. to 778,000 total viewers, according to preliminary BBM Canada data.
That was the third-biggest comedy bow for City, behind 2 Broke Girls and How I Met Your Mother's debut.
