America's Got Talent judge Howie Mandel is set to host the 2017 Canadian Screen Awards.

The prolific Canadian comic and actor will emcee the ceremony, which is set to air March 12 on CBC from Toronto, where Mandel was born and raised.

"I don't only look at it as honoring the best in Canadian entertainment, but more importantly, I am so excited about the free trip home!” Mandel said Thursday in a statement.

The Screenies, organized by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, honor Canadians for the best in homegrown film, TV and digital content.

Besides his America's Got Talent gig on NBC, Mandel is producing the upcoming series Caraoke Showdown hosted by Craig Robinson for Spike TV.
