Hugh Jackman Shatters Broadway Box-Office Records
The actor ended his one-man concert show Sunday, earning the highest weekly gross recorded by the Shubert Organization in its last seven days.
Hugh Jackman ended his highly-successful one-man Broadway show with a bang Sunday, Jan. 1.
The Australian actor's Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theater earned $2,057,354 in its final week, which is the highest weekly gross recorded by the Shubert Organization, the owner of Broadhurst and 16 other theaters on the Great White Way.

But, that's not the only success Jackman saw. His show, which ran for 10 weeks and routinely sold out the 1,176-seat theater, earned a massive $14,638,428, reports the Washington Post. He also holds claim to 10 of the 11 top grossing weeks in Broadhurst history.
The thearter's previous record holder was The Merchant of Venice, starring Al Pacino, which took in $1,175,750 in one week earlier this year.

Jackman didn't just make money for the theater though. The actor also raised nearly $1 million in his first three weeks on stage for the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS fund.
