Hugh Jackman Unveils 'Real Steel' Airplane
UPDATED: Virgin America names an Airbus A320 after the DreamWorks film; aircraft features the character "Atom" on its fuselage.
Virgin America and DreamWorks Pictures have teamed up for an unusual promotional push for the robot boxing pic Real Steel. An Airbus A320 from the company's fleet was christened "Real Steel" Friday, sporting a picture of the character Atom on its fuselage.
Real Steel star Hugh Jackman unveiled the aircraft at Los Angeles International Airport. He said, "I am so happy to inaugurate this Real Steel Virgin America plane. I can't wait for the fans to see the movie."

Inspired by Richard Matheson's short story "Steel," Reel Steel is set in a future where one-ton robots have replaced human boxers in the ring.
Jackman plays a washed up fighter barely making ends meet as a small-time promoter in an underground boxing ring that pits low-end bots against one another.
Besides Jackman and its mechanical stars, Real Steel also features performances by Hope Davis, Lost alum Evangeline Lilly and Anthony Mackie.
The film opens in theaters on October 7, and will be part of Virgin America's in-flight entertainment offerings later this year.
