Ice Cube, who has spent the last seven years at UTA, has left the agency.

Sources say he is not expected to jump to another agency but rather will try to be agentless for film and television for the time being. He will remain managed by his longtime manager Jeff Kwatinetz of The Firm.

Cube is the former co-founder of seminal rap group N.W.A who found a second career as an actor and producer with the Friday and Barbershop urban comedy franchises along with turns in films including Boyz n the Hood, Anaconda and Three Kings.

Cube had been repped by longtime agents Ramses IsHak and Michael Sheresky and joined them when they moved to UTA from WME in 2009.

The last several years have been banner years for Cube. He produced his dream project, 2015’s  N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton, both a critical and commercial hit, and launched a hit mainstream franchise with Universal's action comedies Ride Along and Ride Along 2.

Cube in October set up a modern musical take on Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, in which he is expected to produce and star as Fagin. He next stars in Fist Fight, the New Line comedy he also executive produced, which is set to open Feb. 17. There's also a third Ride Along movie in the works.

Cube remains signed to WME for music.
