Ice Cube's Film Production Company Gets Chinese Investment

Cube Vision is currently developing a hip-hop-inspired Oliver Twist remake.

Ice Cube's film production house Cube Vision has inked a partnership with Kelvin Wu's AID Partners, a Hong Kong-based media investment company, it was announced Monday.

As a part of the deal, AID Partners will become a significant shareholder and strategic advisor to Cube Vision. The company will fully fund targeted projects in development. 

Ice Cube and Jeffrey Kwatinetz will remain Cube Vision’s majority shareholders and retain complete creative control of materials and projects. AID Partners has the option to expand its investment and relationship.

AID Partners has led investments in other entertainment properties, including Legendary Pictures. Wu helped to found Legendary East and acted as the company's first CEO.

Ziffren Brittenham and Eisner Jaffe negotiated the deal on behalf of Ice Cube and Cube Vision.

Cube Vision, which produced Straight Outta Compton and the Ride Along movies, is currently developing Ride Along 3 and a hip-hop-inspired Oliver Twist remake and has an overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV and Fox 21 TV Studios.
