ICM ousts 3 in Limato's wake, promotes another
EmptyEven as it continues to negotiate the departure of former agency co-president Ed Limato, ICM has dismissed three agents and promoted another as it continues its restructuring process.
Let go were Matt Eskander and Richard Konigsberg from the motion picture talent department as well as DJ Talbot from the agency's motion picture lit division.
Justin Deanda has been promoted to a motion picture talent agent working with music clients. ICM represents such acts as Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown and Ne-Yo.
The three agents who are leaving were former assistants of Limato, which prompted talk of a Limato purge among his loyalists. Deanda, however, also was a Limato assistant.
ICM has been undergoing an institutional shift since Rivzi Traverse Management and Merrill Lynch acquired a majority interest in the agency in 2005, and the company acquired the Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency last year.
ICM had been known as an agency of many camps and personalities, despite its collection of teams, but "the fiefdom mentality is out the door," one agency source said.
The mood at the agency Tuesday was upbeat, another source said. "They are making moves, so that's exciting."
