Icon in Management Shake-Up
Stewart Till appointed chairman
LONDON -- Icon U.K. Group, owned by Len Blavatnik's Access Industries, has undergone an internal management shakeup that sees former CEO Stewart Till appointed chairman of the group.
Till spent more than two years negotiating and finalizing the sale of Icon's U.K. and Australian theatrical distribution assets along with its international sales arm and home entertainment interests from Bruce Davey and Mel Gibson's Icon stable for Access.
Till's CEO role will be split between Hugo Grumbar and Ian Dawson who are promoted from within the company to be joint managing directors at Icon.
Grumbar was most recently president of distribution while Dawson held the position of general manager of home entertainment at Icon U.K.
The company said the management shakeup comes on the back of its "increased emphasis towards film finance and international sales."
Going forward Dawson is charged with overseeing all aspects of the U.K. business with Grumbar looking after the International side.
The company declined further comment on all aspects of the shakeup.
