iHeartRadio Music Fest Sells Out in Less Than Ten Minutes...Again
The second annual event boasts sets from Rihanna, Aerosmith, Taylor Swift, No Doubt and Lil Wayne, to name a few.
iHeartRadio is two for two for sold out music festivals selling all of the tickets for its 2012 show in just eight minutes on Saturday (July 14). Their inaugural show last year sold out in less than 10 minutes. For the Sept. 21 and 22 show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the show acts in a similar manner to the 2011 fest with some slight tweaks.
Again, chart toppers across a myriad of genres make up the bill. Top acts from pop (Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias, P!nk), country (Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift), rock (Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Linkin Park), and hip-hop/R&B (Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige), amongst others.
Notably, EDM has made its mark on this year's line-up with Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, and Deadmau5 included. Last year, David Guetta was the sole representative of the EDM wave. Additionally, veteran acts Green Day and No Doubt will be taking the stage too as part of their highly anticipated comebacks.
This year's line-up does not repeat any act from last year except for Steven Tyler who performed last year without Aerosmith.
Those who missed out on tickets can still win them through promotions via Clear Channel's 850 radio stations (and their Facebook pages) which will be doing promotions all summer as well as through iHeartRadio.
Another improvement this year comes from a live video broadcast of the two-day show available at Yahoo!
