IM Global Signs Output Deals in Germany, Russia, Latin America

Stuart Ford's IM Global has added several more key pieces to its international distribution puzzle with a pack of output deals for its upcoming slate, including major new agreements for German-speaking Europe, Russia and Eastern Europe and Latin America.

IM Global has announced a multi-year output deal with Germany's Universum Film that will see Universum, which is controlled by German broadcasting group RTL, release IM Global mainstream titles with $20 million-plus budgets across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The deal was struck at the European Film Market in Berlin last month, where Universum jumped on IM Global's new young-adult fantasy franchise Blood Sisters: Vampire Academy. Universum also handled the German-language release of IM Global's 3D actioner Dredd, among other titles. The new deal applies to features IM Global finances or co-finances.

Ford has signed similar output deals with Top Film for Russia, CIS and the bulk of Eastern Europe, including major territories such as Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic, and with Sun Distribution for most of Latin and South America.

IM Global already has output arrangements in place for its bigger titles in the U.K., Canada and Spain, where they are released through eOne; India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, where IM Global parent Reliance handles distribution; and across much of Asia through existing deals with Buena Vista International.
