Former Imax Exec Moves to 4D Motion Seat Maker D-Box Technologies
Bob Raposo is going from one Canadian-based company to another to get D-Box deeper into the U.S. market.
Former Imax theater development exec Bob Raposo has joined D-Box Technologies to get the cinema motion seat maker deeper into the U.S. market.
Raposo, who spent six years at Toronto-based Imax as vp theater development and sales, boards Quebec-based D-Box as vp of Americas and EMEA markets.
He is charged with generating more theatrical sales of cinema seats with motion effects that had moviegoers along for the ride in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War when Iron Man and the gang had an all-out brawl at the airport.
Raposo's hire also follows D-Box inking a deal with the China Film Co. Ltd. to develop and distribute D-Box's moving cinema seats throughout the Chinese market.
"Bob’s industry experience and financial background coupled with his extensive network of contacts are key advantages that will play an important role in our success,” Claude McMaster, president and CEO of D-Box, said Wednesday in a statement.
