IMS Engage to Feature Skrillex, Russell Simmons, Lady Gaga Manager in Un-Moderated 'Conversations'
A six-year staple of Ibiza, where it's known as “the TED of music conferences,” the EDM gathering will make its U.S. debut on April 17 in Hollywood.
A series of eight “conversations” about dance music will take place at the W Hotel in Hollywood on April 17. It will feature the likes of Skrillex, Lady Gaga manager Troy Carter, Russell Simmons and Sony’s president of electronic music Patrick Moxey.
The IMS (International Music Summit) Engage gathering, a six-year staple of Ibiza, where it's known as “the TED of music conferences,” makes its U.S. debut between the two Coachella festivals, which take place in Indio on consecutive weekends. Among the topics on the un-moderated agenda: how dance music is influencing the wider industries of technology, finance, film and art.
Indeed, in recent years, EDM has experienced massive growth both at live events and behind the scenes, where the genre has seen big investments by such business moguls as Ron Burkle and Robert Sillerman.
Pairings and the full schedule for the daylong event are listed below. An after-party in partnership with The Windish Agency will follow and take place poolside at Drai’s Hollywood at the W. The event will be preceded by a performance by Foxes as part of the W Hotel’s Worldwide Symmetry Live series.
