India to host Ang Lee retrospective
'Crouching Tiger' director honored with five-film screeningNEW DELHI -- The Indian government's New Delhi-based Directorate of Film Festivals in collaboration with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre will host an Ang Lee retrospective film festival from 23-25 July in Delhi. The festival will screen five films by the acclaimed director: “Fine Line," “Pushing Hands," “The Wedding Banquet," “Eat Drink Man Woman” and “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon."
Lee's producer Li-Kong Hsu, who produced four of these films, will be the guest of honor at the inaugural function. DFF also said the event will include a video message by Lee for Indian viewers.
Lee's 2007 film “Lust, Caution” also featured acclaimed Indian actor Anupam Kher.
Lee is attached to direct “The Life of Pi,” based on the best-selling Yann Martel allegorical novel about an Indian boy adrift at sea with a tiger.
