Indian fest fetes Kapoor
EmptyAnil Kapoor, the Indian star who plays the game-show host in "Slumdog Millionaire," will be honored during the seventh annual Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, set to run April 21-26 at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood.
The fest will screen two films in which Kapoor starred — 1991's "Lamhe" and 1997's "Virasat" — and 2007's "Gandhi, My Father," which he produced.
The fest also said Megan Doneman's "Yes Madam, Sir," a documentary about Kiran Bedi, the first and highest-ranking female officer in the Indian Police Service, will be the closing-night film. Bedi will attend as guest of honor. (partialdiff)
