Indian Zombie Movie Gets Accompanying Graphic Novel
'Shaadi Of The Dead' set for release next year will be preceded with graphic novel launch in October.
NEW DELHI -- Upcoming Indian zombie movie Shaadi Of The Dead (Marriage of the Dead) starring top actor Abhay Deol and actress Genelia D'Souza will see an accompanying graphic novel "Zombie Talkies: Bloodfest in Bollywood" to be launched at Comic Con Express Mumbai taking place from October 22-23.
Shaadi of the Dead is produced by iRock Media and Balaji Telefilms. Earlier this year iRock released India’s first found footage horror film Ragini MMS while next year the banner will start production on vampire film Bloody Veer.
Comic Con Express Mumbai is the "travelling version" of Comic Con India, the national Indian Comics Convention launched in February in New Delhi, organized by Twenty Onwards Media.
"Zombie Talkies: Bloodfest in Bollywood" is published by Twenty Onwards Media's Pop Culture Publishing label under a licensing agreement with iRock Media.
"'Zombie Talkies: BloodFest In Bollywood' has amazing artwork and great writing... The story of the graphic novel is quite different from the movie. The novel follows a Bollywood production shooting in Agra (home of the Taj Mahal), which experiences a sudden outbreak of the undead," said Comic Con India and Twenty Onwards Media founder Jatin Varma.
“We are very excited to partner with Pop Culture Publishing. We created this novel and film keeping in mind the young Indian audience. We are confident that zombies are here to stay and soon become an integral part of India’s pop culture,” added iRock Films CEO Sidhartha Jain.
