Film Independent Sets Spirit Awards 2013 Date

Submissions are now being accepted, and nominations will be announced Nov.27.
The 28th Film Independent Spirit Awards, maintaining its day-before-the-Oscars spot on the awards calendar, will be held on Feb. 23, 2013.

Nominations will be announced Nov. 27 at 10 a.m. PT.
As of Tuesday, Film Independent is beginning the process of accepting submissions. The regular deadline for submissions is Sept. 18 and the final deadline is Oct. 16.

Although Film Independent has not yet announced the location of the event, it is expected to once again take place on the beach in Santa Monica, and the ceremony will air exclusively on IFC.
