Infiniti to Introduce Concept Coupe at Detroit Auto Show
The concept car will enter production as the next generation of the Q60 largely unchanged and influence the look of other Infiniti models
At last month’s Los Angeles Auto Show, Audi unveiled a rakish concept coupe, the Prologue, that will eventually go into production and serve as the design template for the entire Audi lineup.
Now, Infiniti is set to unveil a concept coupe at next month’s North American International Auto Show, based on its popular Q60 model, with an aggressive silhouette and mission statement similar to Audi’s: refresh the look and feel of the entire brand.
The windswept car foreshadows “the strong visual consistency to be a key ingredient of products in the future Infiniti lineup,” the company said in a statement.
Although technically a concept car, the Q60, like the Audi Prologue, will probably go into production in the next two years. Infinity executive design director Alfonso Albaisa told Motor Trend that the car is “very, very, very close” to being a final production design.
Tbe Q60 Concept will be unveiled Jan. 13 at NAIAS in Detroit.
