Int'l Press Academy to honor Michael York

Michael York has been selected to receive the International Press Academy's 2009 Mary Pickford Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Entertainment Industry at this year's 14th annual Satellite Awards on Dec. 20 in Los Angeles.

The actor, who made his film debut in Franco Zeffirelli's "The Taming of the Shrew," has also appeared in more than 60 films, including "Romeo and Juliet," "Cabaret," "Logan's Run" and "The Three Musketeers."

He next appears in "The Mill and the Cross," opposite Rutger Hauer and Charlotte Rampling, and has narrated the documentary "Mary Pickford: The Muse of the Movies."
