This Is How Selma Blair Transformed Into Kris Jenner
For Ryan Murphy's newest show, 'American Crime Story.'
Selma Blair has some awfully big shoes to fill.
The actress is portraying America’s favorite momager, Kris Jenner, in the upcoming Ryan Murphy-produced series about O.J. Simpson’s murder trial, American Crime Story.
At THR’s celebration of its annual Beauty Issue — which took place at The London West Hollywood on Wednesday evening and was sponsored by Laura Mercier, Pret-a-Reporter caught up with the actress to chat about transforming into some of the most recognizable genes on the planet.
“She has such a look, and her eyes are so big and such a part of her face,” said Blair of Jenner’s trademark smoky eye. “I’m playing her in the ‘90s, maybe before that look was as perfectly honed as it is now, but [the eye] was kind of the key.”
It helps, too, that the 43-year-old actress bares a strong resemblance to Jenner, especially with her dark, blunt bangs and the striking black liner she was wearing for the evening to complement her embellished black-and-gold dress.
“We definitely touched base about it,” said Blair of consulting with Jenner about the performance. “And it was helpful because I really grew to like her. I really felt she had such an open heart, so it was a wonderful thing to have that in my back pocket.”
