This Is Why Jennifer Lawrence Fell at the Oscars
The award-winning actress reveals exactly why she was thinking about cake when she tripped, in W magazine's February issue.
It's been nearly a year since Jennifer Lawrence's famous fall at the Oscars as she went up to accept the best actress award for her role in Silver Linings Playbook -- and now, we know why.
In the February issue of W magazine, the actress reveals what was going through her head when she tripped, walking up the stage in her voluminous Dior dress.
"I was at the Oscars, waiting to hear if my name was called, and I kept thinking, Cakewalk, cakewalk, cakewalk. I thought, Why is 'cakewalk' stuck in my head?" she told the magazine. "And then, as I started to walk up the stairs and the fabric from my dress tucked under my feet, I realized my stylist had told me, 'Kick, walk, kick, walk.' You are supposed to kick the dress out while you walk, and I totally forgot because I was thinking about cake! And that's why I fell."
We don't blame the girl for thinking about cake -- Lawrence did tell The Hollywood Reporter that she "forgot to eat because it was so stressful at my house and I didn't have time."
W's "Movie Issue," which features six different cover stars -- including Lawrence, Amy Adams, Oprah Winfrey, Cate Blanchett, Matthew McConaughey and Lupita Nyong'o -- is available now on newsstands.
