ITV Studios America Puts Michael Azzolino Atop Creative Affairs
The veteran producer comes off of an 11-year stint at Jerry Bruckheimer Television.
ITV Studios America has found its new head of creative operations, announcing Tuesday the addition of Michael Azzolino as executive vp creative affairs.
Azzolino, who will oversee development and current for the studio's growing roster of U.S. market original script series, arrives at the stateside arm of the U.K. media giant after having spent more than a decade at Jerry Bruckheimer Television.
“Michael will bring with him deep relationships in the creative community and his considerable experience in the development and production of hit television programming,” said ITV Studios America president Philippe Maigret, to whom Azzolino will report. “I am thrilled that he will be joining the ITV Studios America team as we build a creatively and commercially ambitious scripted TV business.”
It was just last year that Maigret moved over to ITV from Endemol to oversee the studio's growing scripted efforts. As for Azzolino, he most recently served as senior vp for Bruckheimer's TV operation. In that role, he was responsible for all aspects of new project development, pilots and current series production, working with such partners as Warner Bros. TV and CBS Television Studios. He also was part of CBS' upcoming TV treatment of Training Day and has producer credits on such Bruckheimer series as Hostages, CSI: Cyber and the recently renewed Lucifer.
“After 11 phenomenal years at Jerry Bruckheimer Television, I am excited to join Philippe and his team at ITV Studios America," said Azzolino. "The studio is building an incredible environment for creatives to take advantage of the many opportunities available in our ever-evolving marketplace."
