ITV Studios Global Inks Nordic Subscription VOD Deal for Crime Dramas
The pact covers such shows as "Prime Suspect," "Agatha Christie’s Poirot" and "Agatha Christie’s Marple."
LONDON -- ITV Studios Global Entertainment has inked a multi-year video-on-demand deal with Svensk Filmindustri (SF) in the Nordic region for a slew of crime dramas such as Lewis, Agatha Christie’s Poirot, Agatha Christie’s Marple, Prime Suspect, A Touch Of Frost and Inspector Morse.
The deal will see the shows offered on SF’s branded section of Scandinavian pay TV company C More’s SVOD platform.
Content will be rolled out onto the service from the beginning of December, ITV Studios GE said.
Financial terms of the licensing deal weren't disclosed.
The pact builds on the British commercial broadcaster home entertainment arm's long-standing DVD partnership with SF for the Nordic DVD business.
SF licenses a range of ITVS GE’s crime dramas for DVD in the region under its Crime Time brand.
Dan Gopal, svp, global digital media & home entertainment, said: "SF is extremely well positioned in the market to offer consumers the choice and flexibility across multiple formats and devices via their DVD, subscription and transactional services."
Svensk Filmindustri svp of home entertainment Tore Skarelid added: "We are delighted to be extending our existing relationship with ITVS GE and look forward to further strengthening it going forward on packaged media as well as digital."
The deal was brokered by ITV Studios Global Entertainment vp, international home entertainment Mark Kirkpatrick.
