The filmmakers behind 'Hide Your Smiling Faces' are producing and directing the indie

Jack Davenport and Kelli Garner have joined the cast of Americana, a Hollywood noir being made by the film group Flies Collective.

David Call (Smash) stars the indie, which is written and being directed by Zachary Shedd.

Americana chronicles an alcoholic film editor (Call) as he puts together the pieces of his movie star sister’s (Garner) murder. Davenport will play Calib, a small-time producer behind the starlet’s final film.

Also in the feature are Frank Mosley and Peter Coyote.

Matthew Petock and Daniel Patrick Carbone are producing the project, which will start shooting later this month in San Francisco.

Shedd, Petock and Carbone make up the Flies Collective, which previously made Hide Your Smiling Faces, an indie coming-of-age movie that played the festival circuit last year.

Davenport will next be seen in Kingsmen: The Secret Service and starred on shows such as Smash and FlashForward. He is repped by Gersh, Sanders Armstrong Casserta Management, and Hamilton Hodell.

Garner next appears in Horns, the Daniel Radcliffe-starring horror movie that adapts the Joe Hill novel. The Alexandre Aja-directed movie opens in theaters Oct. 31. Garner is repped by Gersh, John Carrabino Management and Hansen Jacobson.
