James Cameron’s 'Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away 3D' To Unspool During the Dubai Film Festival
A host of high profile features including documentary "Radioman," which includes interviews with Meryl Streep, George Clooney and Tom Hanks, are set for Emirati's international section.
LONDON -- James Cameron’s Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away 3D, Jacques Audiard's Rust and Bone starring Marion Cotillard and star-studded documentary Radioman, featuring interviews with Meryl Streep, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Johnny Depp and Tom Hanks among others are among the titles lined up for this year's Dubai International Film Festival.
The festival, which marks its ninth outing December 9 through 16, said the titles will unspool in the event's Cinema of the World section.
Michael Haneke’s Palme d’Or winning film Amour is also programmed by the sidebar curated by industry vet and former London Film Festival director Sheila Whitaker.
Aiming to showcase "creativity, originality, vision and imagination" via a line-up of features, documentaries, shorts and experimental film, the section has titles from the United Kingdom, Mexico, Italy, Finland, France, Austria, Argentina and Spain as well as from Hollywood.
Whitaker said: "The comprehensive collection of films from both established and upcoming talent is undoubtedly a medley of this year’s most anticipated and acclaimed work from every corner of the globe."
DIFF artistic director Masoud Amralla Al Ali said: "From critically acclaimed titles, to wonderfully crafted 3D, potential front-runners for the 2013 Oscars and ground-breaking documentaries, the program is a true representation of the very best of this year’s film across every genre."
