James Lafferty to Star in Indie 'Waffle Street' (Exclusive)
Danny Glover also stars in the film about a hedge fund vp who, after losing his job, works at a 24-hour diner.
One Tree Hill star James Lafferty will star in upcoming indie Waffle Street, which will also feature Danny Glover.
The film centers on a $30 billion hedge fund vp (Lafferty) who loses his job in the recent market crash. He finds work as a waiter in a 24-hour diner, where he meets Edward Collins (Glover).
Ian and Eshom Nelms are directing the film, which will shoot in Lehi, Utah, beginning Aug. 4. The Nelms wrote the script with Autumn McAlpin, who had optioned the 2012 memoir of the same name. McAlpin also is producing with John J. Kelly and Brad Johnson.
Lafferty is reuniting with the Nelms, who directed him in Lost on Purpose.
Lafferty, who played Nathan Scott on TV's One Tree Hill for nine years, most recently appeared in horror film Oculus and TV series Crisis. He’s repped by Paradigm and Nelson Management.
