James Li joins THR as analyst

Newly created role to enhance stories and special reports

James Li has joined The Hollywood Reporter as a media analyst.

In the newly created role, Li provides research insights and analytical support to help enhance the width and depth of The Reporter stories and special reports. He will also be involved in projects related to Nielsen Business Media's strategic development and global presence.

Li worked at Nielsen Entertainment in Los Angeles for the past four years, where he managed domestic and international film market research projects for Hollywood studios and participated in such projects as the company's initial China movie market research and a worldwide mobile game study. Before coming to the U.S., Li worked as an anchorman and producer of Chinese and English TV shows with Beijing TV in China.

Li holds a doctorate in communications from Ohio State University and is the author of several journal articles and conference papers regarding media economics and media effects. His dissertation is focused on Western media corporations' strategies in post-WTO China.
