James Woods, Mary Louise Parker and Ving Rhames are joining Jamesy Boy, an indie prison drama being toplined by newcomer Spencer Lofranco.
Trevor White is directing the movie, which will shoot March in Baltimore. White wrote the script with Lane Shandgett.
Inspired by the real life of troubled teenager James Burns, the redemption story tracks a young man who goes from suburban street gangs to a maximum-security prison surrounded by hardened criminals. In prison, he fosters an unlikely friendship with a convicted murderer (Rhames) who ends up becoming his mentor and ultimately defines and changes the course of his life.

Woods, repped by Gersh and Morris Yorn, was last seen in Screen Gems’ remake of Straw Dogs. Parker, repped by WME and Frankfurt Kurnit, recently wrapped Universal’s R.I.P.D. Innovative-repped Rhames will next be seen in Piranha 3DD.
