Jamie Foxx, Idina Menzel to Perform at Barbara Davis' Carousel of Hope Ball
The gala will honor Sidney Poitier, Jane Fonda, Sherry Lansing and David Foster at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Oct. 8.
Jamie Foxx and Idina Menzel will perform among a star-studded audience at Barbara Davis' 30th annual Carousel of Hope Ball at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Oct. 8. The biennial L.A. black-tie affair (held in Denver every other year) will celebrate honorees Sidney Poitier, Jane Fonda, Sherry Lansing and David Foster.
Foxx and Menzel join a long line of A-list entertainers who have performed at the ball in the past including Stevie Wonder, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Beyonce, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, Jennifer Hudson and the Jonas Brothers. Davis' Children's Diabetes Foundation has raised over $100 million towards finding a cure for diabetes and has received A-list support over the years from George Clooney, Magic Johnson, Clive Davis and more.
Presenters will include Denzel Washington, Anjelica Huston, Quincy Jones and Carole Bayer Sager. Quincy Jones and Clive Davis will return as the music chairmen and George Schlatter will return to produce the show.
Davis and her late husband Marvin (former owner of 20th Century Fox) started the nonprofit foundation after their daughter Dana was diagnosed with type-one diabetes as child. Barbara's daughter Nancy also has a yearly Race to Erase MS gala, which raises money for research for multiple sclerosis (MS).
