Jamie Oliver toasting Edinburgh TV fest

Chef-turned-activist tapped to give lecture

LONDON -- British chef-turned-social activist Jamie Oliver will give the Richard Dunn Memorial lecture at this year's Edinburgh International Television Festival, outlining his creative strategy and personal business vision that has seen him tackle the government's policy on poor-quality school meals.

Oliver began his career as Channel 4's "Naked Chef" and has fronted a number of social awareness docus, most recently against intensive chicken farming.

Also featuring in the festival lineup are satirist Armando Iannucci, incoming ITV director of programs Peter Fincham, new BBC1 controller Jay Hunt and Channel 4 chief executive Andy Duncan.

The festival runs Aug. 22-24.
