Jane Lynch Skewers Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Glee at News Corp. Event (Video)

With Rupert Murdoch out of the country on business in China, Jane Lynch stepped in as acting CEO of News Corp. to open the techie D9 conference. (Lynch stars on Fox's Glee, D9 is put out by AllThingsD, which is owned by News Corp.'s Wall Street Journal.)

"As acting CEO, I'll be making some changes while the powers that be are abroad," joked Lynch.

First up: closing iPad-only publication The Daily. "Never heard of it, never used it, so clearly I’ll be shutting that down," she joked.

"While holding the keys to the kingdom… I'll also be incorporating a comics page into the Wall Street Journal," she said. "I'm a big fan of Family Circus. So seemingly mundane, yet dripping with irony."

As a photo of the Glee cast flashed on a giant screen, Lynch said, "I'm launching a Fox News investigation into the young and fresh face cast of Glee. I don't believe one of them are real Americans. I've also convinced Glenn Beck to stay on at Fox for one final gig - as a dying patient House, with a horrendous malady. His sickness is consuming him from the inside out."

"I'm pretty sure we got Sarah Palin to do a guest spot on Glee. She'll perform an original tune I penned: 'Look at Me, I'm Bats--t Crazy," Lynch went on of the network contributor and former Alaska governor.

"I feel pretty good about these changes," said Lynch.
