Japanese Journalist Killed in Car Crash in Libya

TV Journalist, Assistant and Driver Lose Lives, Cameraman Injured

The Cairo bureau chief of TV Asahi was killed along with an Egyptian employee and a local Syrian driver in a car crash on the road to Sirte, Colonel Qaddafi’s hometown.

Yoshihisa Nomura, 37, and Shima’a Sami, 31, were killed, and their cameraman injured, as they were traveling to cover the aftermath of the death of the Syrian dictator, according to TV Asahi.
