Jay-Z Responds to Beyonce's 'Lemonade' in New Album '4:44'

Listeners quickly took to Twitter with reactions to his lyrical confessions.

Jay-Z albums don’t just fall from trees. So when the hip-hop legend and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee dropped 4:44 at the stroke of midnight, the pull was predictably immense.

Hov was the top “trending topic” on Twitter for some hours after his 10-track album was released to subscribers of Sprint and Tidal (and spun across 160 stations through an exclusive arrangement with iHeartMedia).  

The Twitterverse went into a spin cycle as fans with twitchy thumbs poured over the lyric sheets for disses. And many figured "4:44" was Mr Carter’s response to his wife Beyonce’s revelations in Lemonade, which itself also began trending on the social media platform.
