The animated fantasy title, directed by Peter Ramsey (Monsters vs. Aliens), features the voices of Hugh Jackman, Alec Baldwin and Chris Pine, among others. Paramount will bow Rise of the Guardians on Nov. 21 in the U.S.
CineEurope 2012, which will see the industry event set up shop in Barcelona after 15 years in Amsterdam, also will feature preview screenings of Disney/Pixar's Brave and Oliver Stone's stoner crime drama Savages.
This year, CineEurope is adding independent screenings to its program of studio presentations. Among the indie offerings at the event, which runs June 18-21, will be Lionsgate International's Step Up: Revolution in 3D; Michael Haneke's Palme d'Or winner Amour, which French distributor Les Films du Losange will screen; and the French drama A Monkey on My Shoulder, starring Juliette Binoche, from MK Distribution. Russian distributors Central Partnership and Karoprokat also will present their slates to CineEurope's audience of European exhibitors.
