Bruckheimer also offered some insight into his upcoming movies, including the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film and the new Beverly Hills Cop movie he's working on.
With respect to Pirates, Bruckheimer said that he hopes to "get that going" by this fall or the end of the year "if everything lines up properly."
While the producer noted that Johnny Depp is expected to reprise his role in the fifth film, he said they'd be happy to have Keith Richards return.
Bruckheimer, who recently inked a first-look deal at Paramount after he and Disney decided to end their 20-year partnership, declined to speculate about a sixth Pirates film, saying simply, "We make 'em one at a time."

With respect to Beverly Hills Cop, Bruckheimer said they were in the process of getting the script finished and he hopes to start shooting at the end of the summer or in early fall.
"We're going to take Eddie [Murphy] back to Detroit," the producer said. "He's going to be in Beverly Hills … so we're going to have some fun with him."
Bruckheimer also praised David Ellison, the head of Paramount financing partner Skydance and the son of Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and brother of producer-financier Megan Ellison.
"David's got great taste. The movies he's made have been very successful," Bruckheimer said. "He's continued to make great movies. He really understands the business better than anybody."
