The comedy icon will play two shows in Mumbai in March
Jerry Seinfeld will head to India for the first time, performing two shows in Mumbai in March. The Emmy winning comedian will appear at the Stage42 festival and is scheduled to perform on March 14 and 15.
“I have always been fascinated by India and its culture,” Seinfeld said in a statement. “I have great respect for its people and their way of life. It is a great honour for me to be invited to come there and make fun of it in person.”
Stage 42 is a newly launched multi-cultural festival organized by Mumbai-based event management company Only Much Louder which also runs the NH7 music event. The multi-city festival began in February and its comedy lineup has already seen a show from critically-acclaimed comic Bill Burr.
Also in the works is a nationwide tour by Canadian comic Russell Peters, alongside shows from leading Indian comics such as Anuvab Pal and the All India Bakchod collective, among others.
Tickets for the Seinfeld shows went on sale Friday priced at $125 (7,500 rupees) and $208 (12,500 rupees) per head.
