Jesse Eisenberg and Shia LaBeouf Taking Aim at 'Arms and the Dudes'
Shia LaBeouf and Jesse Eisenberg may be taking on the roles of stoners-turned-arms-dealers in Arms and the Dudes, THR has confirmed.
Warner Bros. and producer-director Todd Phillips want the duo to star in the comedy, but there's still a ways to go with talks.
Phillips, who is producing under his Green Hat Films banner, is co-writing the the script with Jason Smilovic. The story, based on Guy Lawson's Rolling Stone article, follows two stoners from Miami Beach who ended up becoming arms dealers for the U.S. government.
The project was one of the first tied to The Hangover director's new company, which he formed with actor Bradley Cooper in May. Green Hat has a three-year production deal with Warner Bros. Pictures.
Mark Gordon is also producing while Bryan Zuriff is executive producing. Jesse Ehrman and Jon Gonda are overseeing Arms and the Dudes for Warner Bros.
LaBeouf will next be seen in David Ayers' WWII tank drama Fury. He's repped by CAA, John Crosby Management and Matthew Saver Law Offices.
Eisenberg's upcoming work includes Warner Bros.' superhero tentpole Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and American Ultra. He's repped by CAA and Felker Toczek.
