Comedy Script 'Jessica & Drew' Sells to Fox 2000 (Exclusive)
In what likely amounts to the first screenplay sale the year, Fox 2000 has picked up The Incredible True Story of Jessica & Drew Who Accidentally Boned on the Way to the Wedding, a comedy spec by Erin Simon and Kimberly Karp.
Karen Rosenfelt and Mason Novick will produce.
The story centers on two people who, while on the way to a destination wedding and with other partners on their minds, hook up and fall in love.

Both Simon and Karp are former executives and Jessica & Drew is their first sale as a writing team on the feature side. (The duo already has sold a TV pilot spec to Sony TV.)
Simon worked at Ben Stiller's Red Hour Productions and was involved in the making of the cult TV pilot Heat Vision and Jack. She also was senior vp of comedy at Regency TV before making the move to screenwriting.
Karp worked at DreamWorks Television before becoming a writer-producer on comedies such as For Your Love and Raising Dad.
