Jessica Lowndes, best known for her work on the 90210 reboot, had her fans in a tizzy over the weekend after announcing her "secret relationship" with Jon Lovitz, the comedian and Saturday Night Live alum who also happens to be 31 years her senior. The actress posted cryptic Instagrams which suggested that she and Lovitz were engaged. On Monday afternoon, however, the starlet confirmed the whole ordeal was an "early April Fools" prank and a promotional stunt for her latest music video in which she stars opposite Lovitz. Calvin Klein Is Writing a Book [WWD]
In a new interview with WWD, Calvin Klein reveals that he has a book in the works due out in September 2017. The 73-year-old certainly has plenty of experience to draw from, and noted that his archives are bursting with more than 50,000 images and 150 films from his various projects. Currently, Klein spends his time speaking at universities and working with students.
Alber Elbaz Promoted to Officer in France's Legion of Honor [WWD]
Former Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz may currently be out of a job, but he's still a winner in the hearts of the French. Elbaz was promoted from Knight to Officer in the country's Legion of Honor, the highest civilian distinction. He was first named Knight in 2006.
Allure Hires New Digital Director from New York Times [Fashionista]
Simone Oliver has been named Allure magazine's digital director, one of several new higher-level changes under editor in chief Michelle Lee, who replaced founding EIC Linda Wells in November. Oliver joins from The New York Times, where she was a growth editor working with T Magazine and the lifestyle desk. She replaces Miles Stiverson, who departed Allure for Travel + Leisure last week.
