Jeweler To the Stars Pamela Love Talks the Future of Jewelry
At the Mara Hoffman show, for which she provided the jewels, she also reveals which celebrity she most wants to see wearing her ear jackets.
Mara Hoffman’s Spring 2016 collection was Willie Nelson–inspired, from the braids to the bandanas to the clothes. So it makes sense she’d turn to pal and prior collaborator Pamela Love for the baubles. "The pieces are very Western-inspired—you’ll see some bolo ties in there and arrowheads, which are in line with the DNA of my brand, so it’s the perfect marriage," Love told Pret-a-Reporter.

The jeweler — whose pieces are worn by the coolest of the cool including Rihanna, FKA Twigs, Zoe Kravitz and Lou Doillon — may have a perennial love for arrowheads, but she told us her favorite piece of the moment is earrings. "Just lots of them, lots of layering of earrings. I like an ear jacket."
Not surprising then that she called out the type of person who can pull off those ear jackets as "strong, confident women. I’m really obsessed with Gillian Anderson right now, so I’d love to see something on her." That said, Love — who sat beside Jenna Lyons and Jennifer Fisher at the show — does foresee a more pared-down minimalism coming as far as jewels. "I think it’s reached its tipping point," she said.
"I think we might see a resurgence of traditional, classic styles of wearing things. I think, how many hand cuffs and headpieces… I think it went to a place where I feel like I’m starting to see people return to just really good staples, which I’m OK with too." As long as there’s jewelry involved, we’re happy too.
