Jim Gaffigan to Publish Second Book of Essays
The stand-up comedian's followup to this year's "Dad Is Fat" will center on food.
Stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan is set to publish his second book, an untitled collection of essays about food. The book is scheduled for a 2014 release from Crown Archetype, an imprint of the Crown Publishing Group at Random House.
Gaffigan’s first book, Dad Is Fat, was published May 17 and debuted at No. 5 on the New York Times bestseller’s list, where it has stayed in the top 10 for six weeks and reached as high as no. 4.
“Working with Crown was a delight. I haven’t been hungry in ten years,” Gaffigan said.
“Working with Jim Gaffigan and his team on his bestselling book, Dad Is Fat, was such a pleasure that we couldn’t wait to sign him up for another book on the topic people most love to hear him talk about: food,” said Tina Constable, senior vice president and publisher, Crown Archetype.
Gaffigan is among the most successful comedians in the United States, with DVDs and CDs reaching platinum status. He has appeared on HBO’s Flight of the Conchords and Bored to Death and on three of NBC’s Law & Order series. His big screen roles have included Going the Distance, Away We Go, and It’s Kind of a Funny Story, and he made his Broadway debut in That Championship Season alongside Chris Noth, Brian Cox, Jason Patric, and Kiefer Sutherland.
He is currently on tour with Jim Gaffigan: The White Bread Tour.
Gaffigan is represented by Alex Murray at Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
