Jimmy Kimmel to Host American Cinematheque Tribute to Matthew McConaughey
Jennifer Garner, Jessica Chastain and Reese Witherspoon are set to pay tribute to the actor
Jimmy Kimmel will host the American Cinematheque tribute to Matthew McConaughey, it was announced Thursday.
Jennifer Garner, Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Chastain, Cole Hauser and Lili Fini Zanuck are all set to deliver in-person tributes to the actor.
McConaughey was named as the 28th recipient of the award in June. In March, he won the best actor Oscar for his role in last year's Dallas Buyers Club. He also earned an Emmy nomination for his work on the first season of HBO's True Detective. He'll next be seen in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar.
Since 1986, the American Cinematheque has honored an extraordinary filmmaker who is fully engaged in his or her work and is committed to making a significant contribution to the art of the motion picture. McConaughey joins previous honorees Jerry Bruckheimer, Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Samuel L. Jackson, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Al Pacino and Steve Martin.
The American Cinematheque tribute is set to take place Oct. 21 at the Beverly Hilton.
