Jimmy Kimmel Welcomes Baby Girl
UPDATED: The talk show host's wife, who is the co-head writer of his show, gave birth to the couple's first child Thursday.
It has been a big day for Jimmy Kimmel, who has a new baby, not to mention three Emmy nominations for his show.
The star's wife, Molly McNearney, gave birth Thursday to a baby girl, Kimmel confirmed on Twitter. Kimmel's rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the baby's name is Jane Kimmel and that McNearney is doing well.
McNearney joked that giving birth wasn't exactly pain-free. "Kids, don't do drugs," she tweeted on Thursday. "Until you have a baby. Then do ALL OF THEM."
Kimmel thanked his fans for their support and even sounded a little surprised by all the positive messages he'd received. "Thanks for all your kind baby wishes — turns out, not ALL tweets are mean!" he tweeted.
The bundle of joy arrived just days shy of the couple's one-year anniversary, as they were wed on July 13, 2013. McNearney is the co-head writer of ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! Kimmel, 46, has two children, Kevin and Katherine, from his first marriage.
The baby arrived on the same day that the show earned three Emmy nods, including one for outstanding variety series.
